If you don’t give me what I want, I’ll report you

Posted by MJ on 16 October 2007

There are callers who want more than their share of pie and demand it. When you don’t give them what they want, they demand, “Tell me your name. How to spell it. I’m going to report to your manager.”Receiver: Have courage (if you were right)

Do not be afraid to give your name to them. Be confident – as long as you did nothing wrong. After all, if you did something wrong or someone in your company did but you have to do damage control, you’ll have to find ways to solve it without going to your manager first.

Sometimes callers just want to threaten you to get what they want. Insist that they give you a chance to solve their problems.

If there’s nothing else you can do, ask your manager if he/she would like to take his/her fan’s call.

Caller: Get your rights

If you were wronged and you are calling to get your rights, be brave too. Explain your situation – who, what, where, how, etc and tell them your expectation, what you want.

Ask them how you can get what you want.

If you are definately right, ask and then demand to speak with someone who can make decisions. Have all evidence ready.
